Chapter 01

Dubai, 2014.

I came to Dubai in 2014 for a job at a Swiss firm — setting up offshore companies and opening bank accounts across the world. The first three months were intense. The next ten years rebuilt how I thought about business.

From there, I moved into UAE company formation at Virtuzone. Six years. I started as a consultant and worked my way up to Sales and Business Development Director.

The first time I closed 700,000 AED in a single month, I sat with it for a long time.

Chapter 02

The observation that changed everything.

In senior management, I discovered something I hadn't known before: people are motivated in completely different ways. What drove me didn't drive the colleague sitting next to me. What closed one client would have killed the deal with another.

That observation has shaped everything I've done since. Marketing is not a megaphone. It is a translation problem.

Chapter 03

COVID, and the laptop pivot.

Then COVID came. The physical-meeting world I'd built my career on disappeared overnight. Showrooms closed. Lunches stopped. Deals that lived on handshakes stalled.

I made one decision quickly: I needed to become an expert in something I could do from a laptop, anywhere. Within a year I was inside the MBA program at Hult Dubai.

Chapter 04

Two courses that rewired me.

MBA at Hult Dubai. Specialization in AI and Digital Transformation. Inside the program, two electives changed my direction — behavioral economics and business psychology.

What pulled me in was the magic of how people decide. How easily our brains can be guided. How rarely we notice. Kahneman. Tversky. Thaler. Ariely. Once you see the patterns, you cannot un-see them — and you start to notice every place marketing is fighting them instead of using them.

Most marketing assumes buyers are rational. Decision science proved they aren't.

Career, in three places

A path through three industries.

2014 — 2016

Offshore Consultant

Swiss Firm · Dubai

Setting up offshore companies and opening bank accounts for clients across the world. Learned how international structures, money and trust actually work in practice — and how vastly different motivations drive the same kind of buyer.

2016 — 2018

Business Development

Healthcare Accreditation · UAE

Worked with hospitals and clinics on international accreditation programs. Sold something invisible — institutional credibility — to highly rational, slow-moving buyers. The decision cycles were long. The lessons compounded.

2018 — 2024

Sales & Business Development Director

UAE Company Formation · Dubai

Six years inside one of the UAE's largest business-setup firms. Joined as a consultant, left as Director. Closed up to 700,000 AED in a single month. Hired, trained, and led sales teams — and learned what marketing was supposed to be doing for them, and almost never was.

Why work with me

Six reasons founders choose me over an agency.

01

I've sold, not just strategized.

Twelve years closing real deals — including up to 700,000 AED in a single month at Virtuzone. I know exactly where marketing breaks down because I've stood on the other side of the funnel, watching it happen in real time.

02

Behavioral economics, not opinions.

Every recommendation is grounded in decision science — Kahneman, Tversky, Thaler, Ariely. Not what worked for someone else's brand. Not the latest LinkedIn trend. The mechanics of how your specific buyer actually decides.

03

You get me, not a junior.

No account managers. No handoffs. No "strategy by senior, execution by intern." The person who runs your diagnostic is the same person who writes your action plan and helps you execute. Boutique by design.

04

UAE market, not generic playbooks.

Ten years inside this market. I know how founders here actually buy — across emirates, nationalities, industries — and which import-from-the-US tactics quietly fall flat in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

05

Plain language, written down.

Every diagnostic ends with a written 7-day action plan. No 80-slide deck. No jargon for the sake of jargon. Specific, named actions you or your team can execute next week — or hire someone else to execute.

06

Aligned with your outcome.

Agencies are paid for hours, retainers, and impressions. I'm paid to make your marketing work — and I'd rather run a 90-minute diagnostic than sell you a year of execution you don't yet need.

Why I work the way I work

Most marketing strategists have never sold anything.

I spent twelve years on the other side of the funnel. Which means I know exactly where marketing breaks down — not in theory, but in the moment a buyer goes quiet. Most founders build content about themselves and forget the only thing that actually matters: the person on the other side, deciding whether to choose them.

Behavioral economics is not a trick. It is a vocabulary for the things sales people already knew intuitively — and a way to make them repeatable, teachable, and measurable. That's the work.

If your marketing almost works, the gap is rarely in the content. The gap is in how decisions are framed, anchored, and timed. That is what I help founders fix.

Quick questions

About Olga.

What does Olga Melnyk do?

Olga is a digital marketing and social media strategist based in Abu Dhabi. She helps founders and SMEs across the UAE apply behavioral economics — the science of decision-making — to their offer, content, social media, and funnel. Every engagement begins with a Strategy Diagnostic.

What's her background?

Twelve years on the sales side in the UAE — including six years at Virtuzone where she rose to Sales and Business Development Director. She has an MBA from Hult Dubai with a specialization in AI and Digital Transformation, and deep training in behavioral economics and business psychology.

Why behavioral economics for marketing?

Traditional marketing assumes buyers are rational. Behavioral economics — Kahneman, Tversky, Thaler, Ariely — proved they aren't. Buyers decide emotionally and justify logically. Behavioral marketing builds offers, copy, and funnels around how decisions are actually made, not how we wish they were.

Where is she based and who does she work with?

Based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She works with founders and SMEs across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the wider Emirates — typically service businesses, consultancies, clinics, premium product brands, and personal brands doing under AED 5M in revenue.

How do I start working with her?

Every engagement begins with the Strategy Diagnostic — a 90-minute live session, followed by a written 7-day action plan delivered within 48 hours. Investment is shared after a brief fit conversation. Book directly on the calendar.
